The variety of software projects being carried out today is enormous. Some of them succeed while others fail. One key reason for failure of projects is lack of proper estimation or hte use of inappropriate estimation techniques. While there are many estimation techniques developed for project, each of them have their own advantages and disadvantages. No estimation technique can be considered a silver bullet for all the projects.
